MEND (Meeting Emergency Needs with Dignity)is a non-profit organization begun in 1980 and now feeds over 50,000 people in Essex County each year. The event is a 1 mile walk in downtown Newark to raise further awareness for helping those needing food in our community. Washington Park (just 3 blocks south of I-280 on Broad Street at 11:30AM.
The Walk To End Hunger is an annual awareness and appreciation event held in Newark. The location is Washington Park: at the convergence of Washington and Broad Streets in Newark. The walk route will be from Washington Park down Broad Street past City Hall to the Federal Building and then back to Washington Park.
