Music & Video
We at Blues Leaf are all mourning the loss of one of our family members – keyboardist, arranger, and musical director Lance Ong. He was a “Treasure” to all of us who knew him and played with him. He may be gone but won’t be forgotten. May you rest in peace, Lancee. ~ Joe Morabia and the Blues Leaf Family Click to listen: Sirius/M Tribute to Lance with Bill Wax http://www.nicolehart.com/Bill_Wax_Lance_000.mp3

Below check out tunes from our first independent release, “Live NRG” which served to put us on the proverbial “blues map.” THANKS to Rick Lusher and all the DJ’s who gave a then unknown artist the spins. Our fans asked us to record our live show for release, and we did just that! We put together a compendium of performances recorded during the summer concert season, choosing specific performances featured on this CD because of the spirit that was present at that particular show, for that particular song.
On some of the tracks, we were fortunate to have our friend Stanley Behrens (Willie Dixon, Ruth Brown, Jimmy Smith, Canned Heat) who flew out from the West Coast to join us on stage with his sweet harmonica and tenor. Guitarists Rich Cohen and Grammy nominee Gil Parris, each in his own inimitable way, stepped to the plate to deliver two different styles of playing, earmarking the respective tunes with their distinct sounds. Of course as usual Lance Ong, keys, Vonnie Hudson, bass, & Joe Piteo on drums are slammin’. We really hope you enjoy it!
Here are some samples from that CD. Also, if you missed the recent radio interviews, you can hear them here as well. You will need a player that can playback MP3 files.
